How to Integrate 102-Series Axis Control Modules with Servo Brake Control
Motionnet single-axis control modules do not directly control brake functions. They simply provide connections to the drive’s brake pins for customer integration
- 102-Series Single-Axis Modules:
- The previous module versions with ‘B’ in their model numbers have this feature
- 102-M121-DA2B/102-M131-MJ4B/102/M141-YS5B/102-M171-PA4B
- For the new module versions, adjust the jumpers on the module as shown in the attached diagram:

- The brake signal is connected to BK+ and GND on CN2/CN4 of 102-M101-DUM
- To control the electronic brake, customers need to configure the servo drive parameters accordingly
- Using 102-M131-MJ4(B) with Mitsubishi servo drives as an example

Steps for 102-M131-MJ4(B) Integration with Mitsubishi J4 Servo Brake Control
1.The brake connection point on the 102-M101-DUM terminal board is directly routed to the driver’s brake function terminal
The table below shows the corresponding brake connection points for each servo with our 102-M1x1 series

2.The brake signal is controlled by the Mitsubishi J4 drive, and by default, the drive does not activate the brake function based on the Servo On signal. It needs to be manually configured
3.The 102-M131-MJ4(B) serves as a relay for the brake signal and should be set to receive the brake signal from the Mitsubishi servo at SCSI50-Pin23
Setting up 102-M131-MJ4 with Mitsubishi J4 Servo for Brake Control
- The brake function can be engaged or disengaged in synchronization with the Servo ON/OFF status. To achieve this, you need to modify a setting in the drive’s configuration
Specifically, you should change the parameter setting for output point CN1-pin23 to PD24 (DO2) and set it to “MBR.” Detailed instructions can be found in the Mitsubishi manual, as shown in the image on the right - Once this parameter is modified, you can use the Servo ON/OFF status in the drive to control the brake signal
